The Richard E. Jacobs Group needed to select a General Contractor that would provide them with top-quality workmanship and performance for the demolition and preparatory work for the newly planned 14-screen theater. Vanstar was the answer!
On one entire wing of the Mall, the following work needed to be performed:
- Relocation of eight (8) existing tenants
- Re-routing of all utilities
- Total demolition of a 60,000 sq. ft. footprint, including foundations and utilities
- Construction of a 60,000 sq. ft. theater shell with higher roofs that had to tie into the existing mall
- Close coordination with Mall Management and Fire Marshal on a fire/security monitoring system during construction
This project required close coordination with Jacob’s Corporate Tenant Coordination staff, Mall Management, the project team’s design professionals and the theater tenant. Extensive rainfall presented additional challenges to meet the shell turnover date for a planned late Fall opening, but the Vanstar team pulled it off without a hitch.
